A comprehensive garden census will be conducted in Hemak Pradesh 40 years later to gather a comprehensive picture of the sector.

The Consumer Electronics and Information Technology (CCC) Joint Service Center (CCC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the State Department of Veterinary Development to conduct the census.

Information on fruit farming and other horticulture is collected in the census to provide a comprehensive and detailed picture of the region. It will be the only source of detailed information for flowering, nursery and special crops in the region and is crucial to improving the horticultural economy.

Under the agreement, the CCC will be able to conduct a census system through the last mileage network of the state’s common service centers. “The CCC will set up an online forum to conduct the census and provide training sessions for reporters to complete the survey within a year,” he said.

The most recent fruit and vegetable census was held in Himachal Pradesh. In 1982, for the first time in 40 years, such a census was conducted by CCC in 12 districts. Complete horticultural lands and activities are covered under the study.

Himachal Pradesh is the only state with a population of 89.96 percent. Therefore, agriculture and horticulture are important activities that provide about 62 percent of the total workforce.
