Biography: Brandon Pickard

Brandon James Pickard, 27, of Hood River, Ore., passed away Dec. 19, 2022. Brandon was born Oct. 13, 1995, in Hood River to Jerry and Crystal Pickard. He was the youngest of four children, joining Barrett, Kelly and Rachael.

Brandon attended Hood River School and graduated from Hood River Valley High School in 2014.

After high school, he worked in his family’s orchard and on several other farms in the valley. He found his love for horticultural science by working on farms. He loved to grow all kinds of plants and trees and watch their growth through their life cycle. He also loved creating art and music, and as his friends knew, he especially loved to rap. He enjoyed traveling, cooking, camping, hiking, hunting, fishing and sitting around the fire with friends and family.

Brandon was a kind-hearted man and a beautiful, gentle soul. He would give the shirt off his back to those he loved, and if he loved you, it was from the heart. He was always willing to help with small or large tasks – painting houses, cooking, gardening and taking care of the animals. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, cousin and friend.

Brandon is survived by his parents, Jerry and Crystal Pickard; brother, Barrett Pickard; sisters Kelly (Clay) Hotchkiss and Rachael Wagner; grandmother Diane Glaze; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Alvin Glaze, Monta Pickerd and Eugene Pickerd.

We are deeply saddened by his loss, and will forever hold him in our hearts and memories.
