Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India]January 3 (ANI): Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday participated in the State Credit Seminar 2023-24 organized by NABARD and released the State Focus Paper 2023-24 prepared by NABARD.
The event was held at a hotel on Subhash Road, Dehradun. For 2023-24, NABARD has estimated a priority credit capacity of Rs 30301 crore for the state of Uttarakhand, which is 6.22 percent higher than last year.
Expressing gratitude to NABARD, CM Dhami said that for the development of agriculture, horticulture and small and medium industries in Uttarakhand, a loan scheme of thirty thousand million rupees has been prepared this year, which is an increase of 6.22 percent compared to last year. .
“This will be effective in improving the lives of our farmers, people engaged in vegetables and fruits and small scale industries. There is a need for proper monitoring and transparent credit system so that the needy citizens do not face any problems while taking loans,” he said.
He added that banks play a major role in making loans easily accessible to the right, needy and deserving people.
“Banks should pay attention that needy and eligible people should not wander unnecessarily through loan related formalities. For this, banks should work in mission mode. For this NABARD loan scheme allocation, every bank branch will work. I should work with a specific target,” he added.
CM Dhami said that rural development and growth is possible only through investment and credit.
“Our reverse migration mission is also important. The government is constantly working to strengthen basic services, roads and connectivity in rural areas. For this, continuous support is being provided from NABARD. Last year, NABARD approved 4515 projects worth ten thousand crore rupees to Uttarakhand,” he said.
He said that special attention should be given to increase credit allocation in three credit deficient districts namely Rudraprayag, Baghshwar and Tehri.
The Uttarakhand CM said that apart from banks, the state government is also implementing schemes like subsidy, loan-linked schemes and interest sharing for common people, under which Veer Chandra Singh Garhawali Tourism Self-Employment Scheme, Din Dayal Upadhyay Co-operative Farmer Welfare Scheme, Prime Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme. Employment programs are being implemented.
The Uttarakhand CM said that no matter what proposals are made in India at the international level under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, tough decisions have also been taken.
“India is hosting the G20 summit this year. This is a good opportunity for the country to promote ‘Local for Global’. Two important meetings of the G20 have been held in Uttarakhand. On India’s proposal, the United Nations General Assembly in 2018 2023 as the ‘International Year of Millet’.This will give rapid growth to our dry grains.
He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for allowing the Government of India to buy Manduva at a minimum subsidy price.
In the State Credit Seminar organized by NABARD, it was said that through 91 Small Entrepreneurship Development Programs and 23 Livelihood Entrepreneurship Development Programs, NABARD has trained 5280 Self Help Groups to empower women and create sustainable livelihoods. NABARD is playing a major role in the establishment of FPOs in the region as a catalyst for business and so far a total of 132 FPOs (including 31 central sector schemes) have been established, the statement said.
