Unlike the more popular version of the beautiful red umbilical cord, these watermelons, developed by the Department of Fruit and Vegetable Agriculture under the Tripoli government, are yellow inside.
This is the first time their department has tried yellow watermelon at their horticultural research centers. This type of yellow watermelon first grows on the African continent.
The head of the research center, Dr. Rajiv Gosh, said East Mojo, “The scientific name is Citrulus. In watermelon, we understand red. But one of the discoveries of modern agronomists is yellow watermelon. ”

“It is a two-way watermelon. These are the best yellow box and yellow gold. The maximum requirement for this difference is up to 3 kg. Red watermelon is a small sponge to eat, but yellow watermelon is crisp, ”he added.
Buffalo further explains that the red color in red melons, tomatoes, etc. is called lycopene, which is an antioxidant. The watermelon turns yellow because of its beta-carotene and Xanthophyll. Yellow watermelon is very tasty and delicious to eat. ”
The Department of Fruit and Vegetation has adapted the quality of the fruit to suit the local climate. Dr. Gosh, for his part, said Tripoli’s climate is conducive to the development of this new type of watermelon. The department wants farmers in the region to benefit from such watermelon production. He also said that yellow watermelon wants to play a major role in crop diversity.
Yellow watermelon seeds are sown in December, and summer is the main season. He said the demand and price of yellow watermelon is higher than red watermelon.
