Renovation of the much-anticipated “Bromme County Big Blind” is underway.
Construction workers have been busy for the past two months on the old Indocht Johnson Victory Building on 59 Leicester Avenue in Johnson City.
Syracuse developer Matthew Paulus said the $ 30 million project would transform the abandoned complex into 108 apartments and 7,500 square feet of commercial space.
Paul acquired a $ 1.6 million building at the beginning of the last century.
Lights are now visible in the massive structure that was recently used as a storage facility.
When Paul announced his redevelopment plan last December, he indicated that the project could be completed by early 2023.
County Executive Jason Garnar previously described the property as “the biggest eye disorder in Brom County.”
