Jackson, Robert Arl
He died on November 20, 2021, after a long illness at the age of 76.
Bob was born on January 2, 1945, in Duram, North Carolina, the fourth child of Robert Lee and Ida Me Jackson.
A.D. In 1967 he graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill, joined the US Army in 1968, and served two years as a captain. Moved to Atlanta and settled in Munford, Inc. He was hired. Served in an administrative role in the accounting department of the organization. He made many friends during his reign, and he was the last person to leave the company.
A.D. In 1971, Bob began a 50-plus year partnership with Joe Maggie. A.D. They set up Joseph Colors in 1986 and owned a home-based design studio in Candler Park, and later moved to Clarkston, home, until Bob’s death. Their studio has served their needs and many clients from Georgia Parks and Historic Places, Kalaway Gardens, Georgia Garden Clubs, AL and AZ, Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Ladybord Johnson Wildflower Research Center, Blingrat Gardens and Homes, PA Horticulture Association and many clients. And a team of many beauty, nature and master gardeners. Bob and Joe have been involved in national and regional conservation and events for over 25 years.
Bob’s husband, Joe McGregy, recalls that when death came on WH Auden, the poet’s friend lamented, ‘I lost my standard.’ I also lost my beloved partner and soul mate, who is a measure of my personal worth. Robert Jackson is survived by his wife, Joseph Maggie, two sisters, and two stepchildren and their families. Bob’s Life Festival is scheduled for early 2022.
