La Cross, Wisconsin. (WLAX / WEUX) – The La Crosse Hunger Task Force will host our annual “Vegetable Taste” fundraising event at the Canne Street Community Garden.

Each year, the Hungry Task Force is inspired by the produce of our gardens and offers samples of delicious music, beer and wine, as well as lunch items from local restaurants. There will also be guided tours, quiet auctions and wine competitions. Funds raised from this event are to support the Kane Street community’s garden and food rehabilitation program to help alleviate hunger in our area.

Says Shely Fortner, CEO of the Hunger Task Force; “This is our opportunity to show the garden to our fans and the public. The community garden really makes our hungry community special. It allows the needy to come to the garden directly for a new crop or to get it from their local pantry or restaurant. About ,000 30,000 a year is distributed free of charge.
