The story behind Life Cap farms

LifeCap Farms was founded by Jersey native Barris Sonmez and worked for 12 years in Corporate America. A.D. In 2015, Baris decided to travel the world to pursue other interests. Within six months, Barris had to return home to take care of his family for personal reasons. He did not have enough resources at the time, so he decided to start growing vegetables in his garden to avoid groceries. This aroused the curiosity of the Baris growing up — and in his hometown of Patterson, NJ volunteered to grow vegetables for the Green Acre community.

This volunteer work produced a passion for food processing in the deserts and a love of helping to provide organic products to the community. Barris decided to expand his agricultural knowledge and study at various universities. It was then that he discovered the hidden ‘pearl’. Baris shared. Life Cup Farm was established in 2018 to produce organic gourds and its mission is to serve the community by providing free, non-profit production, urban fertilizer and youth education. A.D. By 2021, Life Cup farms will be relocated to a new location in Jersey City. The farm is located in a 6,000-square-foot warehouse with the goal of providing fresh, fresh, local and fresh seasonal mushrooms to New Jersey and New York. The institute currently has a laboratory, a room and a development room.

Current products

Today, LifeCap Farms has amazing individuals who love the mission and the mushroom sacrifice it makes for the community. LifeCap Farms is currently launching the seasonal CSA program (community-supported agriculture), which offers a twice-weekly mushroom-type box of one to three pounds (at least a 3-month commitment). LiefCap facilitates four meeting places in downtown Jersey. Plant Base Market (370 Pacific Avenue), Busy Bee Orchard (451 Palisade Avenue), Raine n River Apocari (299 Grove Street) and Great Cafe (398 Central Avenue). It also has a CSA reception at the Village Green Restaurant in Regwoodwood, NJ.

Mushrooms range from Blue Oyster to Black Pearl Oyster, King Oyster, Lion Mane, Chest, Shitake, Inoki, White / Brown Beach, Mitak and many more. In addition to fresh mushrooms, LifeCap also has dried mushrooms, flour, tins and growing bags.

The future of LifeCap farms

In addition to current offerings, LifeCap Farms hopes to expand its partnership with many local restaurants, build existing CSA programs, and partner with nonprofit and city parks. As a musician, owner Baris wants to use the warehouse for arts and is in the process of collaborating with local artists, musicians and poets.
