Master gardener program applications are being accepted

Are you interested in gardening? Interested in sharing your gardening interests with others? Are you willing to learn more about gardening and other gardening topics? Can you connect with groups of people? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you have the features required in the Extended Master Gardener program.

A.D. By 2020, 2,558 certified Extension Master Gardeners have volunteered 70,000 volunteer hours throughout Minnesota to reach more than 49,000 Minnesota residents. These volunteers spend time and effort continuing their education. Applications for the program are now open.

The process of becoming an extension master gardener begins with a course that can be taken online or in person. The main course takes approximately 50 hours to complete and costs $ 295. A printed version of the policy option can be purchased for $ 25. Financial support is available in each case. If this impedes your ability to join the program, you can contact your local program coordinator.

Extension master gardeners work hard every year to return to their communities. First-year Extension Master gardeners volunteered 50 hours. After that, the annual requirement is 25 hours. Many volunteers are happy with the program and are more emotional than that. A local program coordinator and other volunteers will help you find volunteer opportunities in your county. These opportunities may be appropriate for your specific areas of interest.

If you are interested in becoming an extension master gardener or learning more about the program, please contact your local program coordinator. The applications are now available at z.umn.edu/mg2022onlineapp. We look forward to welcoming new volunteers in 2022! All applications must be submitted no later than October 1.
