Tara Tarver, Assistant Assistant I, Extended Food and Nutrition Education Program

Tara Tarver is Assistant I, the new representative of the Food and Nutrition Education Program, which is expanded in Bullock and Pike counties. She is the mother of two beautiful children, Jay Taria and Anthony. Tara grew up in Midway, Alabama and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She serves on the Church’s Hospitality Committee, where guests and visitors are treated with hospitality.
Tara is a graduate of Bullock County High School and is currently pursuing a degree in social work. Her hobbies include spending time with her family, reading, and cooking.
Tara says, “As a teacher in my previous career, I taught you how to make smarter choices by eating more fruits and vegetables instead of sweets. I look forward to providing nutrition information to clients in both districts, all of whom are developing their professional knowledge and training in the workforce. ”
Megan Jones, REA, home plots, gardens and house pests
Megan Jones is the new regional expansion agent for indoor lands, gardens and pests in southeastern Alabama.
She has been part of the Extension family for 2 years. Megan grew up in Taylor, L. After graduating from Rehobate High School, she attended Wallace Community College.
She then moved to Auburn University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in horticulture. Megan’s husband, Josh Jones, is from Russia, and they have a daughter, Madeleine. Megan says, “I love cut flower gardens, flower arrangements, and high bed gardens.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, baking, gardening, watching Auburn football and Disney. I really enjoy helping all those who hope for them, as well as those who come into contact with me.
“In the future, I will not be able to do many indoor gardening programs, coordinate with master gardeners, network with extension offices in the region, do a lot of home advice and do many other projects in extension! I look forward to working with you soon! ”
