Mill Pool Garden to host open garden day September 17th

Mill Pool Garden hosts Cape May Garden Club on Sunday, September 19 to enjoy the beauty of a mature summer / autumn peer garden.

Neighbors from Delaware Bay will also take part in a Sept. 19 Million Garden Club tour.

Mall Pond Garden will be open from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Friday, September 17, with tickets available at millpondgarden.com.

Created to showcase the best plants and ideas for Cape Town’s gardens, the local, professional, universal herb garden, Mil Pond is both a source of inspiration and garden information.

The millennium garden grows rich in leafy plants and summer crops. There are roses, long flowers, long-stemmed flowers, hibiscus, strong begonia, rare royal purple, licorice, and ornamental grasses, the most impressive being the rare diamond grass. There is also a large, pink-flowered tropical brogmania, a member of the Solosis family associated with tomatoes and peppers.

Part of the art of gardening is to strategically choose plants to show a continuous flowering, or a continuous flowering or tree display throughout the year to change beauty and desire.

Open Garden Day is also a good time to see the huge, beautiful golden and black garden spider found in the fence and the famous “Charlotte Web” spider. Other sightings include frogs, box urchins, and two resident baby floating owls, Ali and the snapper in the stream.

Mills Pond Garden is a certified wildlife sanctuary of the National Wildlife Federation. Part of the mission is to provide food, water, shelter, and shelter to wildlife, especially endangered species and plants, to promote youth and sustainable livelihoods. Anyone can create a local wildlife sanctuary. Transforming a person’s yard, balcony container garden, school yard, work surface or street green space into a certified wildlife sanctuary is fun and easy, and can make a lasting difference.

Because of the native pollen, gob visitors can see a wide variety of butterflies, including black squirrels, eastern leopard caves, kings, anointed ladies, sulfur and cabbage moths. One can see some interesting butterfly caterpillars.

Providing water or ponds is part of the habitat for wildlife, and the mill pond garden pond includes baby koi fish that survived this past spring. Successful tips with Pond Fish include filtering fish waste and ammonia, keeping the water in the spring or fall te, cleaning the pond filter weekly, and most importantly, feeding the fish in a very simple way starting in June. Until early October, or not at all.

Milton Pepper Green House has fish and never eats them. Owners of ornamental ponds in Japan do not feed their fish unless it is for sale. Most pond fish die from overeating, overcrowding, and damage to water quality. The fish can only thrive on algae and single-celled protozoa, diatoms and shrimp shrimp.

Each one needs a lot of oxygen and space to grow, so it is important not to overfill the fish. Allow a maximum of one inch of fish length per 10 gallons of pond water. As the fish grow, one can remove or give away some of the fish.

A garden pond and fish can be a very enjoyable experience for the whole family and visitors. The evidence is for happy faces.
