VERSAILLES – On Friday, August 6, the National FF announced the completion of the qualifiers, and the Versailles FA is proud to announce that Noah Barga, Renee Schmimer and Wesley Ghert are competing in the Top 4 National FF Finals.
Wesley Gherat is a sixth-year member of Versailles FAA and will be a senior at Versace High School. He is the son of Verse’s Bob and Patty Garrett. Wesley is a national FFA qualifier in the field of diverse horticulture. Wesley SAE has been employed by Great Kindergarten and Home Kindergarten and has worked more than 1,725 hours in both locations over the past three years.
Renee Schmimer is a 2021 Versace High School graduate and a sixth-year member of Versailles FAA. Renee Schmimer is the daughter of Doug and Brenda Schimmer. Renee is a national FF qualifier in dairy. Renea SAE is a positioner in LineView dairy farming where she has worked 5,300 hours in the last 4 years.
Noah Barga is a sixth-year member of Versailles FAA and a graduate of Verseus High School in 2021. Noah is the culmination of a national FFA qualification in goat production and is the son of Michael and Gwen Barga. Noah SAE manages and raises milk goats for sale to organic sources, as well as soap, ice cream, and food products.
Noah, Renee and Wesley first filed in Ohio and then had the opportunity to submit their applications to the National FFA. Each state is eligible for a National FF rating for 49 qualification award areas. In the National FAA, the panel of judges will review the applications and nominate the top 4 qualifiers, as well as the finalists for gold, silver and bronze, in each of the 49 prize areas. In the Wildlife Management Area, Alex Kaiser Gold, Malory York, in the Special Neighborhood Area Silver and Carter Lutheran in the Poultry Management Area were also awarded silver. Wesley, Noah, and Renee’s 20-page eligibility application includes: goals, action plans, resume, drawings, letters of recommendation, financial records, and timeline.
Noah, Renee and Wesley will be interviewed online at the 94th Annual FF National Conference. Each finalist will receive a $ 500 check from their sponsors, along with the winner of the National FIF certification in 49 constituencies. The 2021 applications were completed in 20 calendar years.
Congratulations to Noah, Renee and Wesley on their move to the National FAA, and good luck. The Versailles FFA season has been named the highest three-star national FFA season of the national FAA.
