New program provides free business consulting, GAP audit fees for small and medium-sized crops.

Washington State Department of Agriculture

Olympia – The Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) is now accepting applications for a new bilingual program to support small and specialized crops that have been forced to respond to the Covenant-19 epidemic.

Thanks to WSDA Specialization Crop Block Grant, the WSDA Regional Markets Program, in collaboration with Business Impact NW, a regional small business support organization, offers a new one-on-one crop training for “Surplus from Your Pillars”. Farmers who have to “drive” their business models because of the epidemic.

Profit programming from your pillar is tailored to meet the needs of the participants, rather than offering a structured workshop with a specific set of courses. Services are provided in English and Spanish. Special crops include flowers, vegetables, nuts, fruits and seedlings.

Participants will have the opportunity to choose from a range of professional services portfolio, including free trade training, agricultural consulting and sales and marketing, financial support and loans, business planning and AEP support audit support.

Participants in the program will be able to return the money they received for the first successful USDA GAP certification. GAP Certificate Farms helps expand their marketing channels and create new business opportunities.
