In addition to gardening classes, there were classes in floral art, photography, crafts and cooking, as well as classes for under-16s. The show opened with a line of gobby visitors waiting to enjoy the exhibitions, and the early morning sunshine allowed everyone to enjoy tea, cakes and a glass of pim outside. “This scene was a great joy in the village, and although it was a very difficult year for gardeners, the exhibition was simply amazing – and so much more! The cooking rooms were also well-supported – one of the most popular “People’s Choice” awards by hour of exhibitions and visitors – won by Vanessa Dudman. At 4pm, a very successful raffle followed to end the most enjoyable afternoon! ”
