Sarah Eberle – The Most Beautiful Chelsea Flower Show Designer – It will return to the show in 2021 Psalm 23 Garden, Sponsored by the Bible Society. Using familiar words The Lord is my shepherd As a starting point, the design covers all the major references in the text, from green pastures to quiet waters, to a place that takes time to meditate and live in peace.
Country life In September 2021, he interviewed Sarah before the Chelsea show Psalm 23 Garden, She hopes to be able to cope with the unique design features and the first fall scene.
What inspired Psalm 23 Garden Design?
“To me, Psalm 23 is an example of life,” explains Sarah Country life. It is about the good and the bad of your life experiences, and it will end up where you feel more satisfied and at peace. The garden represents these experiences, and is based on the concept of travel through the landscape.
Think of yourself on a trip, and experience this wonderful place – perhaps a tree, the sun shining through the curtain, or a nearby rock or stream where you can sit – and it will attract you, stop you and make you stay for a few minutes. ”
Inspired by the landscape Sarah grew up in – Dermor by Deven. It was during my teens that I went into a trance and found some spiritual comfort from the landscape.
The natural design is inspired by the stone slabs on the rocks, and is inspired by streams and rivers, including a small reservoir and pool. To get to the back of the garden, you have to cross the rocks in the water or climb a series of rocks. “It is not an easy journey to this temple, which is very similar to our lives,” she said.
- 10 m x 10 m space
- Stone soil and water properties
- Small cassette and pool
- Stone steps to cross
- Wild feeling Beach and hawthorn trees, tropical shrubs, shrubs and ornamental grasses
- Spring fruits to add color
Planting includes wild and wild beech trees, shrubs, shrubs, and ornamental shrubs. When the show was delayed from May to September this year, Sarah had to reconsider her plant gallery to include spring-like blackberry berries and fruits, but she eventually changed drastically. “I have introduced color points, but like many of my gardens, the plant is very soft and full, and relies heavily on texture.
The 23 words of Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I do not want. It makes me sleep in the green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. It restores my soul. He leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk in the valley of deep shadow, I fear nothing bad, for you are with me; With your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You set a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil, My cup is full. Truly goodness and mercy follow me all the days of my life, and I will live forever in the house of God.
How can that be Psalm 23 Garden Will the original Chelsea design be different from May in September?
Dressing up at Chelsea at the end of the year can be challenging, but one Sarah finds it exciting. “I love harvest – it’s my favorite season, and September is my favorite month. I love the whole thing where the growth spurt begins to fall into another season – there is a lot of beauty in it, and the sun goes down in the sky, giving a graphic light. ” Country life.
Ask any of our designers – what do we see on the show? And we say – tell me! We didn’t have Chelsea in September, so we have no experience growing plants during the growing season. No one knows how it works, but I do accept. What we want to avoid is that people are expecting a Chelsea-like May in September – that is not the case.
The current instability, however, is not a major concern. “Rocks and water are both a little challenging, so we were thinking about placing the rocks and not thinking about making the surface of the water more efficient. We had full meetings about the rocks! There are still surprises – there are always. For me, this is a special challenge and attractive for Chelsea.
The garden is small, only 10m x 10m, but this small port is expected to have a big impact. The Sponsor Bible Society is using it to launch a nationwide campaign to encourage community gardening in places such as schools and churches. The idea for this temple was first conceived before the outbreak of the plague. It was 2019. But for the canceled 2020 show, the message of the healing powers, and the hope of suffering, have become stronger over the past 18 years. Months.
This is a modern garden because the plague was planned before the outbreak. There is a better understanding of how green space and nature and gardens are important to us for mental health, especially in cities.
“Community gardens can break down isolation, bring people together for a common purpose, and build self-determination. These issues are very relevant now and people know them better. I am so happy to do all this. ”
What will happen Psalm 23 Garden After Chelsea?
The difference will continue after the event at his new home at Winchester Hospital in Hampshire. It is a deep spiritual garden and a great place to go for patients and their families.
