RCI arrests RCF Kapurthala chief engineer for robbery

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday arrested a senior engineer posted on the Raf Coach Factory (RFF) Capterhala. ₹1 million birr bribe from the contractor. Defendant was identified as Suresh Chand Mena, who supervised building and workshop activities. Defendant was arraigned in Mohali Special CBI and sentenced to 14 days in jail.

According to the CBI, in a press release, the complainant is involved in civil and horticultural activities in RCF, Capithala. In connection with the bidding and payment of certain works, the CBI claimed that the defendant had demanded 1% of the total payment received by the complainant’s company as well as future contracts.

The complainant filed a complaint with the CBI against Mena. He was handcuffed on Saturday morning after the agency confirmed the allegations ₹He took 1 lakh in bribes. The CBC will conduct searches at the defendant’s office and residence in Capithala and Japur, which has helped recover the guilty documents, officials said.

Senior RCF officials have denied any information relating to the bidding process. He said a departmental investigation would be launched into the case, adding that he had not yet received any contact from the CBI regarding the allegations and arrests.
