Southeast Technical College offers summer vocational academies

This summer, the Southeast Technical College will continue to provide the Academy and the Gardening Academy will begin following the approval of the Sioux allste School Board on Wednesday afternoon.

The new Horticultural Vocational Academy will provide work experience for high school students aged 16 and over learning horticultural and sports grass management skills. Students at the academy receive high school and college credits, up to $ 5,000.

Classroom education, laboratory experience, and internship allow students to learn about plant biology, plant physiology, pests, and soft skills as they are essential for job success and job awareness in the program.

‘A Wonderful Opportunity’ for Students

Summer Academy is a “wonderful opportunity” for students, and may be “affordable or even better” for students because some of the unpaid work experience and summer academies provide real-world professional experience.
