
Get ready for spring and celebrate the season.
The San Diego Botanical Garden is set to host its third spring orchid show. The world of orchidsRunning from Saturday 11th March to Sunday 9th April.
The exhibition will be held in a state-of-the-art, 8,000-square-foot, glass-enclosed facility, the Dickinson Family Education Conservatory, created by SDBG’s top award-winning artist-in-residence, Renee Van Reems, AIFD. Exhibition director for the third consecutive year.
Introduction to The world of orchids A one-day ticket or annual membership is included with tickets available for purchase starting February 1.
“There is no plant as beautiful as an orchid,” says Ari Novy, Ph.D., president and CEO of SDBG. “We are delighted to present the third annual world-class orchid exhibition. Each week of the show, renowned floral artist Rene Van Reems creates a new display that delights our visitors with the unique sights, smells and magic of orchids.”
The floral designs feature stunning specimens of orchids, locally bred hybrids and rare species that appear in unique and unexpected ways. In addition to the many species of orchids grown in the garden’s conservatory, displays include orchids and materials from two local groups, the San Diego County Orchid Society and the Palomar Orchid Society, as well as local businesses. .
On selected days of the exhibition, vendors will offer rare and unique orchids and merchandise for sale.
SDBG is open from 9 am to 5 pm, Wednesday to Monday. SDBG and other gardens participating in the American Horticultural Society’s reciprocal admissions program receive free admission. Non-member admissions range from $10 to $18. Reservations are required.
