The Weardale Cultural Show returns this weekend

A traditional national show returns this weekend – the organizers look forward to a fun and affordable event for the whole family.

The 151st Vardel Show will be held on Saturday, August 28 at St. John Chapel.

There will be classes for horses, cattle, dogs, fruits and vegetables and flowers, production and crafts and even if there is no sheep competition, breeders will still show their cattle. Free classes are available for children, including pets, cute toys, and running events and entertainment. They offer junior and adult ballet competitions, fierce battles and stone wall competitions and entertainment. Other entertainment will include music from the Stanhope Silver Band, Elen Hill Shepherd Show, Car Cutter Show, Peter Leadbinder Chainsaw Recording, Kitchen Demonstrations and Motorcycle and Tractor Shows.

The committee members are proud to host a traditional agricultural show that attracts people from Wardell and Tessdale and beyond, including the coast, Cumberland and North Yorkshire. Writer Joan Warner said: “We try very hard to preserve our traditions; it is an exciting friendship. Generations of the same family were often coming, especially since VV was canceled last year, so it would be nice to meet again this year. It is a show where people can enjoy traditional agricultural lessons, shopping malls and exhibitions, a few friendly competitions and affordable entertainment and relax with coffee, pine or ice cream.

Exhibitions are open at 8 a.m. and public access is at 9 p.m. Admission is 6 6 for adults and 3 ለል for children, at the door, and free parking at the nearest amusement park.
