There is a Leadership Development Scholarship for Women in the Gardening Industry

WOMEN & LEADERSHIP AUSTRALIA and Hort Innovation have announced a new round of scholarships for women in the horticulture sector. The scholarship program supports new, middle and senior women leaders in implementing leadership development programs.

More than $ 170,000 in grants will provide 32 scholarships worth up to 32% of regular program fees.

The fund is part of a joint effort by Women and Leadership Australia and Hort Innovation to promote women’s leadership and gender equality in Australia.

Suzie Finkelstein, General Manager of Women and Leadership Australia, said: “We are delighted to be providing this funding for the fifth year in a row. This initiative has already supported 68 women in all areas of fruit and vegetables, and we look forward to expanding this impact this year.

We appreciate Hort’s creativity in inspiring many women to aspire to leadership goals and their commitment to promoting gender equality in this field.

According to Matt Brand, General Manager of Hort Innovation, the scholarship course will help to bridge the gap in the horticultural sector.

“Supporting an all-inclusive fruit and vegetable industry will enhance the long-term growth and sustainability of the sector. Hort Innovation is proud to be a part of this project, Brand said.

“Our continued investment in this management program has been supporting women to grow fruits and vegetables for the past five years.

“This is a great opportunity – submit your application before October 8,” Brand said.

As part of this free education program, Ariana Potanakis has taken the Australian Women’s Leadership Program in 2020.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of Australia’s leadership edge education for women and leadership. There were times when I felt I needed to improve on my skills and knowledge, but I did not know where to start, ”said Potanakis.

What a wonderful introduction to the world of leadership. I have acquired many of the most relevant and useful skills and insights, both personally and professionally. I feel like a different person at first, and thank you very much. ”

Expressions of interest will close on Friday, October 8, unless otherwise specified. The money is available to women working in both tax and non-taxable organizations. Applications can be made online here: https://www.wla.edu.au/horticulture.html.

This project is a joint venture between Women and Leadership Australia and is supported by Hort Creativity using the Hort Frontiers Leadership Fund.
