State Minister for Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Shobha Karandlaje, said it is important to encourage agricultural exports. She said the central government would work closely with the regional government to export India as a major agricultural commodity.
Speaking to senior agricultural and central government officials in the city today, the minister said there should be an independent cell to control agricultural exports that coordinate with the center, regional government, agriculture and food production. The Export Development Authority (ADEPA) and the farmers have been working to ensure that the farmers get value in addition to their produce. He said a large-scale program to produce 20 palm oil in the state will help the state save a lot of foreign exchange. The central government is making efforts to establish a profitable oil processing industry, said Karandalaje.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chancellors of Regional Agricultural and Veterinary Universities and senior officials from ICAR, MANAGE, IIMR and the Cooperative Bank.
Later in the day, State Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Security, Shobha Karandlaje, visited the Jedimela Center for Excellence (Vegetation and Flower) in Hyderabad. On the veranda of the facility, she graduated from urban agriculture and highlighted the importance of urban agriculture in the modern world and the application of new technologies. The Minister distributed certificates of appreciation to farmers in Hyderabad at the Telagana Fruit and Training Training Institute in Hyderabad.
