Widbay Island is one of Washington’s finest gems, and visiting is always a pleasure. But Widbe’s attractions go beyond beach parks, historic sites and delicious restaurants. There is a magnificent forest garden that is open all year round and makes you feel like you are directly into a fairy tale. If you have never experienced the magic of Mercury Gardens, this is the time to visit this amazing escape in Washington.
In these uncertain times, please remember safety and consider adding destinations to your bucket list for later visits.
This peaceful forest garden is a hidden gem, and definitely worth finding.

The gardens were built on 13 acres[13 ha]in the early 1960’s, but have grown over the years. Ann Meerkerk Before her death in 1979, she left the gardens to the Seattle Rhododendron Association.

They begin to sprout in late April, sprouting all summer.

There is no bad time to visit.

But you don’t have to leave the property – you can always go for a walk in nature.

The gazebo was built from trees that were swept away by hurricanes in the late 1990’s.

Admission is a small $ 5 donation, so it is an affordable attraction.
